Every website should
have an attic
Shoebox full of pictures
I've always wanted to test the notion that "a picture is worth a thousand words." But I could never imagine how any one proves the cliché except by hiring a writer to try to describe all the rational clarity and emotional power which emanate from a given photo. And once that happens, the picture is no longer worth all those words on its own. Photos actually communicate best when they are totally disassociated from words. Or, conversely, when they give direct visual meaning to words. Any of the pictures shown here were grabbed with my old Olympus. They are enhanced with brief captions. Any kid pictured in a solo shot is mine.
Old papers
During a Masters program at Nazareth College in Rochester, I wrote somewhere around 60 papers ranging in length from 2 to 65 pages. Getting part way through a second program produced another 20 or so. A selection of these papers is included here. They all got A grades. Sample the papers.
